1. Summary
Notebook App is designed to help you take notes quickly and privately. By default, notes are stored locally on your device. We do not require accounts, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or other direct identifiers to use the core features of the App.
Depending on your device, Android system components or the Google Play ecosystem may collect limited information required for distribution, crash reporting, or basic analytics at the platform level. This policy explains what is within our control and what may be handled by third parties.
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Notebook App mobile application distributed through Google Play. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or apps that you may access through links or system-level features.
3. Information We Collect
In general, we do not actively collect personal information. The App’s primary functionality works without creating an account and without submitting personal data to our servers.
3.1 Diagnostic and technical information (if available)
Some technical information may be processed by the platform (Android / Google Play) or by optional third-party SDKs (if included in your build), such as:
- App performance data (e.g., crash logs, ANR reports)
- Device information (e.g., Android version, device model)
- Basic app usage events (e.g., screen loads) only if analytics is enabled
If your version of the App does not include analytics or crash reporting SDKs, then the App itself does not generate or transmit such data to us.
3.2 Permissions
Notebook App is intended to function with minimal permissions. If a future version requests permissions, they will only be used for the feature you explicitly activate (for example: exporting notes to a file you choose). The App does not request permissions to access contacts, call logs, SMS messages, or precise location for basic note-taking.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
Notebook App does not collect, store, or process the following:
- Name, username, or profile identifiers
- Email address or phone number
- Address, precise location, or GPS data
- Contacts, call logs, SMS/MMS data
- Payment or financial data
- Biometric data
- Your note content on our servers
5. How Notes Are Stored
Notes created in Notebook App are stored locally on your device using on-device storage mechanisms. We do not operate a cloud sync service for your notes and do not upload note content to an external server controlled by us.
If you use device-level backup features (such as Android Backup, Google Drive device backup, or manufacturer backup tools), your device or Google may back up app data depending on your settings. This is controlled by your device and Google account settings, not by Notebook App. You can review and adjust backup settings in your device settings.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your data. We do not rent your data. We do not share your note content with third parties because we do not receive it.
If diagnostic data is produced by third-party services (e.g., crash reporting), it is used solely to improve app stability and performance. Such data is not used for advertising profiling.
7. Third-Party Services
The App may be distributed via Google Play. Google may collect certain information as part of providing its services (such as download metrics, app integrity checks, and purchase-related events if applicable). This is governed by Google’s policies.
If your build includes any third-party SDKs (for example, crash reporting), those providers may process limited technical data. We recommend reviewing the applicable third-party policies if you enable such services.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect user privacy by minimizing data collection and keeping notes on-device. However, no method of storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, including using a device lock screen and keeping your operating system updated.
9. Data Retention
Your notes remain on your device until you delete them within the App, clear app data, or uninstall the App. If you use device backups, backups may retain app data according to your device/Google settings.
10. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country to consent to data processing). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App (which is not required), please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
11. Your Choices & Rights
- Delete notes: You can delete your notes in the App at any time.
- Remove app data: You can clear the App’s data via Android settings.
- Uninstall: You can uninstall the App to remove locally stored data (subject to device backup settings).
- Backups: You can manage device backups in Android/Google settings.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect app changes, legal requirements, or platform policy updates. When we update it, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
13. Google Play Data Safety Disclosures
Google Play Console requires developers to disclose data handling practices. The following summary is intended to align with typical “Data safety” disclosures for an offline/local notes app. Your final disclosure must match the exact SDKs and features included in your build.
13.1 Data collected
- Note content: Not collected by us (stored locally on-device).
- Personal info (name, email, phone): Not collected.
- Precise location: Not collected.
- Contacts: Not collected.
- Diagnostics (crash logs): May be collected by the platform or optional SDKs if enabled.
13.2 Data shared
- We do not share user note content (we do not receive it).
- Technical diagnostics may be processed by service providers if your build includes such SDKs.
13.3 Data security practices
- Local-only storage minimizes exposure of your notes to external systems.
- We recommend using device-level security (PIN/biometrics) and keeping Android updated.
